EDUCATION & TRAINING

I have resided in Southern Oregon since 1980. I Possess Bachelor of Science degrees in Political Science and Criminology. I worked as a Deputy Sheriff in the Jackson County Jail and served as acting shift supervisor, training officer and line staff member for 25.5 years with advanced certification. I investigated many incidents in the jail including criminal activity and administrative rule violations committed by prisoners. 

I have received training in all areas of corrections including interpersonal communication, suicide intervention, assessing and managing the mentally ill, use of force and firearms deployment. I received training from the FBI in hostage negotiations as well.

I have well over 3,000 training hours in the corrections field, criminal and civil investigations, background investigations and hostage negotiations.
